Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp

The trail begins steeply and stays steep. Follow a narrow ridge through dense forest with the sound of the Umbwe River far below. The path is rugged and demanding — a proper introduction to what lies ahead.

Leave the forest and enter the moorland zone. The trail steepens as you approach the Barranco Wall — a massive volcanic cliff face that dominates the horizon. Camp beneath this dramatic natural barrier.
